SHAH ALAM: American pop star Selena Gomez’s concert went on without a hitch here at Stadium Melawati on Monday night.
Thousands showed up for the 70-minute concert, which is her second stop in the Asian-leg of theRevival World Tour, as part of an effort to promote her latest album.
Gomez, who was performing in Malaysia for the first time, took to the stage at 9.15pm.
The 24-year-old singer entertained her fans, nicknamed Selenators, with hits from her latest release such as Good For You, Hands To Myself and Same Old Love, as well as old favourites, Who Says and Love You Like A Love Song.
Last week, PAS Youth dakwah committee chairman Hafez Sabri called for the concert to be cancelled, saying that Gomez’s sexy appearance would tarnish the sanctity of the month of Syawal.
A strong police presence was seen stationed in and around the venue.
